What is Responsible AI?
Responsible AI is a governance framework for developing, deploying, and managing AI systems in a way that is safe, trustworthy, fair, and aligned with human values. It's about moving beyond "Can we build it?" to "Should we build it, and if so, how do we build it right?"
This requires thinking critically at every stage of the machine learning lifecycle.
A Checklist for the ML Lifecycle

✅ Phase 1: Project Inception & Design
- [ ] Define Purpose: Have we clearly defined the problem and the intended benefit of the model?
- [ ] Identify Stakeholders: Who will be affected by this model's decisions?
- [ ] Assess Fairness Risks: Have we considered how this model could potentially impact different demographic groups unfairly?
- [ ] Consider Alternatives: Is a machine learning model the best solution to this problem, or could a simpler, rules-based system suffice?
